Main Session #1: Passive & Receiving Drill (Quality)

- Large enough area for all players
- Players in the middle
Key Coaching Points:
- Create space to receive the ball
- First touch is important – control away from defenders and toward your target
- Be Accurate with your passes and hit them with the right power
- What type of pass are you going to use? Make sure it get to your target – fast
- Always look to communicate with team mates
Progressions:
- Passive Defenders turn Active
- 2 Touches Only
- Add in Additional Defender
Main Session #2: Number Pass Soccer Drill (Speed)

- 5 x 5 area
- Groups of 4
- Each player stands on each side of the box
- The ‘Start’ player is the player under pressure
- Other players are named ‘1, 2 and 3’
- To start play the ball into the player 1
- As player 1 plays the ball back to the start player they call out a number
- The start player must play the ball to that player as fast as possible
- The new receiver then calls out a number before giving the ball back
Key Coaching Points:
- Be ready – on your toes.
- Be ready and try to anticipate
- Get your body in right position
Progressions:
- 2 Touch to start with
- 1 Touch
- Swap players
Main Session #3: Timing of The Pass Drill (Timing)

- Working on the ability on when and how to play the ball
- Line up players opposite each other
- With rest of players at the end of the box
- Players opposite must make a successful pass without hitting the other players
- Other players must run straight through the middle of the ‘pack’ trying to break up play
